Meghan is a Facilitator in Group Tutorial III on Thursdays and will also spend some of her time at OC with the Shaping Your Life Program on Tuesdays. Meghan's family joined the OC community in 2018 and joined the staff in 2019.
Meghan graduated from West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU) with a Bachelors of Science in Secondary Mathematics. During her time at WCU she tutored other college students in various math courses. After graduation, she received a long term substitute position in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District; shortly thereafter she was hired for a permanent position teaching mathematics in the Rose Tree Media School District. While teaching, she also received her Masters in Instructional Education. Meghan taught for just over six years before she and her husband began their family. At that time they made the decision for her to become a full-time mom giving her the opportunity to stay at home.
The family’s homeschooling adventure began in 2016. In 2017, Meghan jumped back into more of a facilitative role, teaching formal logic for high schoolers and hands-on science for 5-7 year olds in the co-op they attended at the time. Meghan continues to be passionate about being active in the learning process, has a heart to serve others, as well as enjoying being able to help young people come to their own understanding and enjoyment of learning.
Meghan treasures her time with her family. She enjoys being active and isn’t afraid to try new things. She appreciates when she has time to be creative, especially when it comes to cooking/baking, cake decorating, and party planning. Meghan’s two young people both attend OC.
