HEATHER HURLEYFacilitator
Heather is the Lead Facilitator in Group 1. She joined the OC Staff in 2019. Her family has been a part of the OC community since 2018.
She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education as well as a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership, teaching at the middle school level for 10 years before transitioning to stay at home with her young people. Upon moving to Phoenixville from Pittsburgh, her family joined the learning community at OC and fell in love with the people, the campus and the philosophy. In Heather's free time, she finds joy in cultivating her love of learning. Whether it's immersing herself in a captivating book, tending to her flourishing garden, or staying active through exercise, Heather is always seeking new opportunities for personal and intellectual growth. You can find her ideally in a beach chair, reading, or walking various trails all over Chester County, coaxing her young people to join her. While all three of her young people attended OC, only one remains while the other two are excitedly exploring traditional education at their local public school. |
