Alumni Connections
We are excited to bring you several events a year to connect OC alumni with each other and with the campus! If you would like to be included on our mailing list, please sign up here!
We welcome the involvement of alumni in planning our alumni events! Please reach out to Sarah Becker to join the alumni committee to help on future events.
Alumni Interviews
Sometimes the best way to learn about a place is through the words of those who have come before you.
How are our alumni living lives full of purpose and fulfillment? These interviews were all originally published in our Open Connections Magazine.
I have become much more self-assured and self-reliant thanks to OC helping empower me to take responsibility for my own education. |
The teamwork and problem-solving emphasis have assisted me greatly in my professional life. |
Fostering a community in which we do not put each other down ... ingrains in you a deep respect for others’ opinions and ways of thinking/communicating. |
OC is a thoughtful place, with lots of freedom of expression and creativity, warm and welcoming, very helpful and just a wonderful, joyful place that I always look forward to going to. |
Having support from peers, parents, and Facilitators at OC is part of what helped me be more comfortable with other people. Being able to explore what I was truly interested in at OC was important as I discovered both myself and—down the road—what I wanted to do as a career. It felt personally meaningful and appropriately challenging to have the opportunity to stand in front of my peers and be an expert on something that I was excited about. |
To say OC had a huge impact on me and my journey is an understatement. The kindness of OC is something that is practically unparalleled. OC made me a more confident public speaker, more comfortable around adults, and encouraged me to see people of all ages as my peers. |
I wouldn't have changed anything...Even aspects of the program that were difficult were just opportunities to be challenged and grow more. OC [provided] the all-important working in groups, and learning to do so effectively and with emotional maturity is quite fruitful. |
