JACEY LUCASFacilitator
"Human consciousness comes into the world as a flaming ball of imagination. Everything invented by man, physical or mental, is the fruit of someone's imagination." - Maria Montessori
Jacey facilitates on Tuesdays in Open Group. She joined the staff in 2018 as a Visiting Artist and substitute facilitator, also helping out in the Art Studio. Her family has been part of the OC community since 2012 when her son started in the Pre-Open Program. Jacey has previously been a Visiting Artist in both the Shaping Your Life Program and in the Open Program.
Jacey earned her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon University, concentrating her studies on designing and developing technologies to assist seniors. After graduation she began work in the museum field, designing educational experiences for the past 24 years in places like The Franklin Institute, The National Constitution Center, and Longwood Gardens. Currently, she is developing a educational game about the natural world. Jacey loves adventuring with her family in the outdoors. She dreams of visiting all 62 National Parks someday (she's up to 22 so far!). She weaves education and learning into her art and design work, and is continuously striving to live a more sustainable lifestyle. She's especially passionate about helping people tap into their innate curiosity and creativity. Jacey’s son attends OC 2 days a week. |
