Michelle Brockway
Facilitator
Michelle is the Lead Facilitator for all Open Program days. Michelle joined the staff in 2004 bringing her lovely family with her.
The second oldest of six growing up, Michelle's interactions with young people began at an early age. Prior to joining the OC Staff, she spent eight years working in the field of early childhood education at The Goddard School and a private nursery school. During this time she especially enjoyed attending courses focusing on children's literature, psychology, and early childhood development. Michelle has spent her parenting years homeschooling her own four young people, two of whom are OC alumni. A lover of the outdoors, Michelle can often be found leading a group of youth and goats on nature explorations. When she is not at OC, she enjoys working on her small farm, facilitating craft groups, and running a farm camp for young people. Michelle has found creative ways to extend her young people’s OC experience to their home life during her non-OC days. During her "free time," Michelle enjoys caring for animals, cooking and baking, reading, playing games with her family, and hands-on creative endeavors such as sewing, tie-dying, canning and preserving food, hiking, exploring nature, woodworking, DIY, and gardening. |
